BUT WHO IS Sammy Anyona Adawo?

Sammy Adawo Anyona is a multimedia communication specialist

He has worked at the Political, Press and Information section at the European Union Delegation to Kenya.

He previously served at the Strategic Monitoring and Reporting Unit of the UN-Habitat and at the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), working on communication around initiatives such as Young Champions of the Earth 2019 and Emissions Gap Report 2019 among other matters including greenhouse gas emissions, plastic waste management, biodiversity, ecosystems.

Sammy has years of media and communication experience including electronic media. He served in various roles as a news presenter, writer and radio producer in a number of media outlets including Kenya News Agency and Urban Radio. He also runs a blog where he writes opinion pieces around policy and governance including op-eds published by local media outlets.

He is a graduate of Moi University, Kenya with a degree in Linguistics, Media, Communication and Translation. He speaks English, Swahili, German, Luo and Acholi. He is interested in environmental and sustainability causes, global communications, diplomacy and international affairs.
